Grounded Living for a Life That Echoes

It is found in clear, fast-flowing rivers, especially in mountainous areas or near tropical forests. It is primarily active in the early morning and at dusk.

It is a freshwater fish with varying colors. It is found in lakes, rivers, and ponds. At the bottom of the water, it blends in with the substrate. It prefers rocky or tree-covered sites for shelter.

Freshwater crustaceans with a compressed body and flexible shell, they camouflage themselves with their surroundings, and during the day they usually remain hidden in deep places among the rocks.

An omnivorous mammal with an elongated body, dark fur, and a paler head, strong legs for climbing and a long tail. It is diurnal, lives in a variety of woodland and plantation habitats, feeds on fruits, insects, and small vertebrates, and often travels alone.

Greyish or brown fur with a triangular stripe on the back, excellent tree climber. They have a highly developed sense of smell, essential for finding their prey.

With thin, pointed wings, it is primarily a migratory bird, visiting the country from September and October until March or May. There is a belief in Costa Rica that its song predicts the weather: if it sings in a dry tree, good weather is expected; if it sings in a green tree, rain is approaching.

Slender and elegant aquatic birds, closely linked to freshwater and brackish water ecosystems, where they hunt fish, amphibians, and insects with their strong beaks, we have both resident and migratory birds in the country.
